The following are a list of common questions we encounter. Hopefully these answers will help clarify any points you are unclear on. A guide to our pricing can be found on the pricing page. Any additional questions you have, feel free to use the contact page or our instant chat tab on the side when we are online!
No no no no. When you get a logo designed with Pixelo, you are paying for a totally unique design. You are not going to see multiple companies with the same design.
There are many companies out there offering $50 logos, which is fine if you think the branding of your company is worth $50. It’s like arriving to a meeting in a cheap suit, it’s nasty and everyone knows it’s a cheap suit. Avoid like the plague.
Our logos start at $375 ex GST. This get’s you 3 designs, with 3 revisions. Generally more than enough to nail it.
In the event that the revisions run over, this amount, our per hour art work charge is $85 ex GST, but 99% of our logos come in at the regular price, plus we are pretty flexible!
The more information we can get off you, the better.
We are aiming to give the idea you have had developing in your head, a physical form, so we need to grab as much info out of that head of yours as possible.
Things like logos you have seen that you liked, colour schemes you think look good, a cool bit of illustration, all this stuff helps.
The nemesis of a designer are terms like “make it pop”, “give it the wow factor”, “blow me away”. These are all great in theory, but they don’t actually convey what you want, merely how you want to feel when you see it, so avoid these if possible.
Check this out to see where “it needs to pop” can lead to ! http://theoatmeal.com/comics/design_hell
To get started we request that you fill in our logo design brief. This will give us the information we need to get started on your design. This includes things like colours you want featured, slogan to incorporate and most importantly, styles of logos out there that you really like. This tells us the type of logo you are after, and we can design accordingly.
Once we have the initial versions done, we mail them over for proofing. You might find you like a little of design 1, a little of design 2, no problem. We can mix and match your logos, changing the parts you don’t like and tweaking it all until you have an end result you love.
Once the logo is signed off, we deliver the finished logo pack, containing your brand new design in a myriad of formats for a range of uses.
The absolutely best way to do a logo, in our opinion is in vector format. Basically what this means is that the finished artwork can be shrunk to very small (on business cards for example) or blown up really big (on banners or vans perhaps) and the quality will remain perfect. You have probably seen images out there that pixelate, breaking up at the edges and looking pretty nasty.
Once the logo is signed off, we supply it in a range of file formats suitable for both online (web, email etc) and offline use (stationery, brochures, tshirtsetc). You will have a logo file to suit every possible need.
What do you want your logo to represent ?
What are your corporate colours ? (warm, friendly, corporate, reliable etc)
Do you prefer a logo that is text only, icon only or a combination of the two
Do you have a slogan to include ?
Do you have a corporate font you want included ?
What will your logo be used for (on your website, stationery, will it be used in large format (banners, vehicle graphics etc)
Over all what we need to extract from your brain, is the overall idea you have pictured for your logo. A good brief will help us extract that idea, where we can go about putting it down in graphic format and making it look great !
You can indeed. In fact video is becoming increasingly popular online and can really help boost your online rankings. Youtube is now the 2nd largest search engine on the net and accounts for a huge volume of daily traffic. It is estimated that 15 mins is spent, per person daily checking out videos online, so it’s a great idea to get one on your site.

No problem. All of our sites are built using popular Content Management Systems that are simple to use. Simply log in and change the contents as you see fit. If you can use Microsoft Word, you can use this!
Not only is this a great way of keeping your content fresh, but you also save money by not having to fork out every time you want the content changed.
Upon deciding to go ahead with your site and paying the initial deposit a meeting will take place to discuss the various site requirements. During this time we will agree on navigation, layout ideas, site features and a host of other elements that will contribute to the overall look and feel of the site.
Once agreed upon, the design work begins. The home page is the first to be proofed, and is generally the most time consuming , as it determines the colour and layout of the proceeding pages. At this stage, pages are proofed in static image form, rather than a fully functioning site. Proofing and amending a full site would be far too costly and time consuming, hence the static images. Once proofed, any requested changes are made until the client is 100% happy and ready to proceed to the next stage.
From here, the additional pages are proofed, amended and signed off until the whole site has been completed. The site is then programmed into a fully functioning site and proofed to the client. From here, the bugs are ironing out, as any original and custom made site will inevitably contain a few bugs. Once complete and given the nod by the client, the site is uploaded to the requested domain, and is ready to go.
You can if you wish. It is always good to have some images of your own to make the brochure feel more personal, but it isn’t always possible. Where images are not available, we can purchase stock imagery that will do the trick nicely. The stock we use is all nice high resolution stuff, so there won’t be any dodgy pixelated images, just nice clean crisp pics to liven up the design.
Not necessarily. As long as we have a theme to design around, a logo to base the colour palette on, and an idea of what the brochure will be for we will be able to get started. Often a client will be working away on the content, finalising copy etc while we squirrel away on the designs.
We can fill the brochure with dummy text that will show how it will all be laid out. We can then replace that dummy text with the real thing when the client is ready to provide the copy.
Hmmm, this has a lot of variables. The number of pages in the brochure, the inclusion of graphs and tables, image adjustments etc etc all contribute to how long a brochure takes to make. Generally you would be looking at around 2 weeks, but every case is different and if you need yours sooner, we should be able to accommodate.
We work with some great illustrators, both in Australia and overseas and have produced a range of illustrations in many styles. Just let us know what you need, perhaps a sample of style and we can prepare a quote for you.
From our competitors, they are. Pixelo offers fantastic rates on brochure design, so you will be pleasantly surprised. Fill in the quote request page to find out just how affordable our work can be.
There are several benefits to having an animated explainer on your site, including :
You’re right, they are cool. Not only are they cool but they will dramatically increase the length of time viewers spend on your site. Improved retention rates, coupled with the easy at which an animated explainer conveys the key points of your business are sure fire ways to increase your conversion rates.
In terms of price, we are one of the most cost effective providers out there. A 60 clip with full voiceover and sound will cost you $2,000 AUD, compared to some of our rivals who charge between $7,000 – $10,000, so quite a difference as you can see.
This is a very common one. A person starts a business, get’s themselves a shinny new website, fills it full of content they think their viewers will want to read and get’s it online. Now what ?
They regularly check the site (it’s still there), but can’t find it on Google unless they type in the exact name. Well, this is all too common. The reason this happens is because there has been no SEO work performed on the site.
SEO stands for ‘Search Engine Optimisation’ and is basically the process of tweeking and preparing a website so that it shows up in the search engines for terms the viewer will search under, for example “Parcel delivery Sydney”. This process involves many factors all of which contribute to the sites overall ranking.
As the site’s SEO value increases, so too will it’s place in the search engines. This can see a large increase in the number of business that a company get’s via it’s website.
